FCB Cread wins Indian Ocean Island Games

Pitching against around 10 other agencies, FCB Cread won the project to design the mascot for the 2019 Indian Ocean Island Games (JIOI - Jeux des Iles de l'Ocean Indien) that take place every four years in different island nations.

The mascot designed by FCB Cread, 'Krouink' is based on the Mauritian Echo Parakeet, one of the nine species of bird endemic to Mauritius. It was named 'Krouink' because it echoes the actual sound made by the parakeet.

Having had a close brush with extinction, with an estimated number of 8-12 individuals remaining at its lowest point, it has rebounded to become a population of over 500. With this remarkable story of survival, the Echo Parakeet proved to be an unmatched choice for the mascot, evoking tenacity and the will to survive, a perfect embodiment of the fighter spirit.
