Ndlovu makes a mark in South Africa

Former Amakorokoza star, Earnest Ndlovu, is riding a wave of success as he continues to take the South African film industry by storm. Ndlovu formerly starred in South Africa's Generations but he now has a new role in a television series called Inkaba. The series has been showing since March on Mzansi Magic. by Silusweyinkosi Mhlanga

Speaking to The Zimbabwean from his base in South Africa, Ndlovu said he was privileged to be rubbing shoudlers with the likes of John Kani, Nakedi Ribane and Dumisani Mbebe.

"I am lucky to be awarded a role in the series and to be rubbing shoulders with John Kani and other experienced actors. South Africa has sharpened my skills and I have worked with a lot of different actors who taught me a lot and have made me the person that I am today," he said.

Ndlovu's acting skills were first discovered in Bulawayo at Amakhosi Cultural Centre through Ndebele television series as Isithembu and Amakorokoza.

"I started acting in Zimbabwe and was groomed there before I sought greener pastures in South Africa. Zimbabwe provided me with the basic skills or I would not be where I am today," he said.

He said the film industry in Zimbabwe had a long way to go to go before it caught up with countries like South Africa.
