Radio & Podcasting Coordinator and Lecturer Cape Town

Film is looking for a committed and dedicated lecturer with professional industry experience to coordinate the Higher Certificate in Radio and Podcasting and to lecture and provide support to its students on NQF5, contact mode, to achieve the required 120 credits.

Key Duties:

• Coordinating and managing the launch of the Higher Certificate in Radio and Podcasting on campus
• Facilitating and lecturing Higher Certificate students
• Conducting student consultations and reflective meetings, supporting students at risk of failure
• Preparing timetables, practicals, curriculum material and lesson plans for each term
• Assessment registration for the term’s assessments, assessing student outcomes, preparing reports
• Working with academic peers and counterparts to ensure parity across all campuses on term outcomes
• Attendance registers and class management administration
• Timetable and resource planning and management
• Curriculum development
• Liaising with industry partners
• Coordinating lectures and workshops given by visiting lecturers
• Reporting on student success and student experience to Head of School

Requirements and Personal Attributes:

1. At least 5 years’ experience in the radio industry
2. Relevant Honours degree
3. Experience in Higher Education
4. Managerial experience
5. Highly developed organisational skills
6. Initiative
7. A meticulous and thorough nature
8. Time management skills
9. Verbal and written communication skills
10. Loyalty, honesty and confidentiality
11. Computer literacy
12. Cultural awareness and sensitivity
