We're building a community of creative artists telling stories with new immersive media across Africa. Our Marketing and Communications Intern plays an essential role in building inclusive access for people from every African nation to connect to each other, to knowledge and resources in this new industry, and to opportunities like grants, labs and jobs.
This role involves posting on social media platforms to keep our community updated; generating written and visual material to showcase amazing African work; and researching the new frontier of immersive media and creative technology tools, including Virtual and Augmented Reality and beyond.
This intern will learn about new technologies, gain experience in generating content and managing digital networks; and collaborate with talented artists. There will be opportunities for self-directed projects in your area of interest.
This is a part time position at our headquarters in Cape Town. Hours are flexible.

Managing and growing our Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Slack and Whatsapp communities
Daily social media posts and curation
Crafting a monthly newsletter and managing the mailing list
Researching trends in VR and other immersive media
Publishing blogs related to industry news and artists' work
Exploring ways to form deeper and broader connections between African arts practitioners and the tech sector
Supporting logistics at the annual Electric South Lab (November 2019)
Occasional administrative tasks to support the production and distribution teams
Interest in arts and technology
Great creative taste
Experience using social media platforms
You do not need to have worked in 360 filmmaking and Virtual Reality but it would be an advantage.
